The ‘’Nor-Shipping 2015’’ (Nor-Shipping) international maritime exhibition was held at Lillestrom Exhibition Site, near Oslo, Norway, from 2nd to 5th of June, 2015.
The Japan pavilion consists of 10 shipyards and 13 manufacturers, who have promoted mainly new designed ships and environmental technologies.
‘’Nor-Shipping’’ is held biyearly in Norway, and Posidonia International Maritime Exhibition is held in alternate year in Athens, Greece, both are renowned as one of the major international maritime exhibitions. This is the 25th holding of Nor-Shipping which has 50years history, and 992 entities (previously 1,037) from 48 countries(previously 57) have participated. The number of the visitors counts around 15,400 (previously 14,870) during its four days exhibition.
Following the previous Nor-Shipping, we Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. as a member of the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association, located our own booth in the Japan Pavilion, and exhibited a model ship of large LNG Carrier, and a large panel of 14,000TEU type Ultra Large Container Carrier that is the biggest ever built in Japan and the first vessel was successfully delivered in the end of March this year. We also promoted extensively our various ships, building capability etc. On the occasion of the opening ceremony held on 2nd June, our president Mr. Higaki attended to our booth and has made presentation and explanation about our activities to the Ambassador of Japan Mr. Kunikata and to other guests as well.
On 3rd of June, a Japan-hosted cocktail party was held at a hotel in Oslo. The party was co-sponsored by the Ambassador of Japan to Norway, Mr. Toshio Kunikata and the President of the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association, Mr. Kazuo Tsukuda. Many guests and visitors from maritime field including marine equipment field gathered together and deepened their friendship.
