We have participated in the “Posidonia 2014”, international maritime exhibition, which was held at Athens, Greece, for five days from 2nd to 6th June.
Posidonia has been held 23times already, which is one of the world’s largest maritime events to meet and interact with shipbuilders, marine machinery & equipment manufacturers not only from Europe but also from all over the world. It takes place once in two years in Athens while another large international exhibition Norship takes place in alternate year in Oslo. Total 1,843 entities including 21 national pavilions have participated in the Posidonia exhibition, and as many as 19,000 people visited the exhibition during five days .
We Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., as a member of the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association, formed Japan Pavilion in consortium with eleven Japanese shipyards together with the Japan Ship’s Machinery & Equipment Association. Our president Mr. Higaki received Mr. Masuo Nishibayashi, Ambassador of Japan to Greece, at our booth and many other guests as well. Mr. Higaki himself diligently explained about our activities and also our future prospect.
The key words of the Exhibition are ‘’Eco-ship’’ and ‘’New Rules’’. The participants have presented the latest model of equipments, made presentation of next generation ship design, and held conferences. During the five days session, many receptions also have been held for the purpose of helping close communications among Greek ship owners and world maritime circle.
We have appealed of high quality and superior technology of Imabari Shipbuilding and Japanese shipbuilding industry to the maritime industry people from Greece, where many renowned ship owners gather, and other part of the world.
