Imabari secured order for five(5) units of 14,000TEU Container Carriers.

Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Imabari) is pleased to announce it has secured new building order from Messrs. KAWASAKI KISEN KAISHA, LTD. (“K” Line) for five (5) units of 14,000TEU Container Carriers, largest size to be built in Japan.

These eco-friendly new building vessels adopt most advanced energy efficiency technology having about 366m LOA, 51.2m beam and 29.9m depth.

Imabari is very proud of having built over 200 container carriers, including 3,600TEU type in 1988, 4,800TEU type in 1995 and 8,100TEU type in 2008. It has been developing large size container carriers in order to respond to increasing ocean going cargo movement.

Through developing better new buildings attentively, Imabari commit to contribute for safe voyage and satisfying expanding ocean going cargo demand.
