New 37,300 M.T. DWT type Bulk Carrier delivered
Oct. 29. 2010
On 8 th Friday of October, the Naming & Delivery ceremony of a 37,300 M.T. DWT type double hull bulk carrier M.V."NORD IMABARI" for her Owner I.M.S. MARITIME S.A. has been held very successfully with a big party in Imabari shipyard.

She is the very first 37,300 M.T. DWT type double hull bulk carrier, which has been developed as the new small handy size of Imabari shipbuilding groups. We developed this vessel pursuing user-friendly design for the shipowners , following our 28,000 M.T. DWT type Bulk Carriers (popularly called "IMABARI28"), which have been enjoying good reputation from domestic and overseas customers.

The main characteristics of the vessel are as follows;
* Box-shaped holds with top-side-tanks (for cargo hold), suitable to efficient transportation of steel products including pipes and plates etc, and top-side tanks enable grain loading as well.
* Improvement of loading/unloading efficiency with over 20m-width hatch openings which are the widest in this handy class.
* Very low fuel consumption for small handy class vessel, installing a hybrid-fin as energy saving device.
* F.O. shifter is implemented as the countermeasure to the cargo heat damage.

We have secured over 40 orders for this 37,300 M.T. DWT type double hull bulk carrier from demestic and overseas shipowners, and expect this small handy vessel to be familiar to the shipowners and operators worldwide.

We hope M.V. "NORD IMABARI" will play an active role across the oceans, satisfying the needs and expectations of her owners and parties concerned.
