Newly designed Bulk Carrier, commonly called "IS" I-STAR, has been completed
Oct. 29. 2010

On 29th Monday of September, the Naming & Delivery ceremony of a 61,000M.T.DW type bulk carrier M.V."IKAN SENYUR" for her Owner E.K.LINE S.A., has been held very successfully with a big party in Shin Kasado Dockyard, one of our group shipyards, located Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Pref.

She is the very first vessel of the I-STAR series, which has been developed as the new Handymax bulk carrier of Imabari Shipbuilding group. I-STAR is the world’s largest handymax bulk carrier which complies CSR (Common Structure Rules), while retaining as low fuel oil consumption as our existing handymax, satisfying the ship owners’needs that require larger freight capability , efficiency and flexibility.
The main characteristics of I-STAR are as follows:

* Realized larger deadweight of 61,000m.t. by extending the overall length to 199.9m.
* Fuel consumption is improved by the installation of Hybrid-fin as the energy saving device.
* Cargo loading efficiency is improved by standardizing the length of flat part of tank top of each cargo hold to 28.8meters.
* F.O. shifter is implemented as the countermeasure to the cargo heat damage.

We have secured over 70 orders for I-STAR since we started marketing in 2007 autumn. We are confident that I-STAR will become our best selling bulk carrier which follows our 28,000M.T.DW type handy size bulk carrier that has achieved sales record of more than 150 vessels.

We sincerely wish that M.V. IKAN SENYUR will cope with the expectations of the Owner and parties concerned, and will contribute to the safe transportation and stable supply of materials.
